• Level crossing barriers at Tallington have failed - find alternative route

  Motorists are being advised that the barriers at Tallington level crossing have failed. A team of engineers from Network Rail are investigating the problem after the barriers went down at 2pm. A Network Rail spokesman said: "The trains are still running, but the barriers are down as a safety precaution. "Investigations are underway." The spokesman was unable to say when the barriers would reopen.

  The number of accidents on Lincolnshire roads has put the county in the top ten of a nationwide danger list. Data from the Department for Transport reveals there were 2,355 accidents in Lincolnshire in 2011 - 45 deaths, 366 serious and 1,944 slight injuries.   Two vehicles were involved in the traffic accident at the junction of Arran Road with the A606 Empingham Road in Stamford this morning.
