A Stamford hairdresser returned home from a busy day at the salon yesterday to find a surprise visitor waiting on the doorstep.

The stylish snowman was sitting on the steps of the Tinwell Road home of Garie Whincop, owner of Garie Nigel Hairwork in the town's Silver Lane.
"I got home about 6pm to be greeted by a random guy sitting on the doorstep - I think he looks like an alien," explained Garie.
"I didn't know who had built him until my 21-year-old son Harley greeted me with a big grin on his face.
"He had had the afternoon to himself, before starting his evening shift at the Cosy Club, and this is how he obviously spent his time.
"It made me smile."
